I read one review that advised not to bring your unexperienced young skaters to Rosa Parks CIrcle but I have done so without problem many times. The key is to time it right. If you go on the weekend it is extremely busy but if you go during the day on a weekday it is much less busy. There is ample metered parking nearby.
Rosa Parks Circle Ice Rink is really fun to go to in the winter but it's not really intented for little kids. I have gone 4 or 5 times and every time I go it is very busy and the ice rink is very small. Little kids can easily get run over. This is great to go with friends though.
Want something to do in the winter that doesn't cost a lot of money? If so, then go ice skating! Even little ones can learn how to ice skate. If you don't have your own skates, you can rent some pretty cheap. This is a great afternoon activity to do with your whole family. Then you can just grab a cup of hot cocoa to warm up on the way home :)
This is Grand Rapids little gem of an ice rink. Such a perfect place for the little ones to try skate for the 1st time! Be sure to bring your camera, you will get some beautiful shots of rosey cheeks and smiles! End your day with some hot cocoa, and its a great time for all!
