Roper Mountain Science Center is a great place to visit. The guides are very knowledgable and don't mind answering all of your questions. The planetarium is probably the highlight of the whole trip. You get to see many of the constellations and find out where you can find them in the night sky. They have picnic areas so you can bring your lunch and enjoy a whole day there.
Roper Mountain Science Center is a great place to go with the family. From 2nd Saturdays to Starry Nights on Friday Nights, there is much fun to be had. 2nd Saturdays are every 2nd Sat. of every month. They change focus. For instance, coming up soon, they'll have a Space Day, then Insectmania and a Star Wars Universe. When they recently had an Indiana Jones day, they had a speaker who was a modern day Indiana Jones. Kids loved him. He told great stories, handled snakes, and on and on. Roper Mountain is worth joining. When you join, you have privileges at many other science museums, some being more expensive for a day over what a year membership cost at Roper.
