Just up the road from the Santa Barbara Mission, you will find this park tucked on the east side of Mission Canyon Road.
My kids have spent hours here exploring the rocks under the shady oak trees of this park. The trees seem as if they grew here during the years the Mission was built, and you feel as if you have stepped back in time. There is a short trail that meanders through the oaks and the rocks. It travels by a little stream that is worth exploring. It is very beautiful.
We have taken several family pictures here for Christmas cards. The kids like to climb up on the rocks for their poses.
As you drive back towards the mission, if you look closely you will see the remains of a wall and aquaduct that were part of the Mission and are historical remnants off to the side of the road.
A playground, a bathroom and picnic areas are here as well.
