"Great place to go play and learn"

This is a wonderful museum for kids and adults! There is a lot to see and do, so plan for a few hours at least. You could even spend the entire day there if you wished to. There is a cafe to have lunch or a snack and part of the admission price includes a ticket to a Planetarium show.  We visited in December and there was a beautiful all ages laser show that played holiday music and showed all of the constellations in the sky. It was so much fun ! If your thinking about planning a visit, you can always check out their website and view the  Planetarium schedule for shows and times as they change from time to time. A favorite activity for my 7 year old daughter is digging for fossils near the dinosaur exhibit. The museum itself is huge and several floors tall. The cool thing is there is a glass elevator that you can take which is nice if you have a stroller or have someone with you who has trouble with stairs or is too tired from all the walking! There are places for younger kids to climb around and a ton of hands on exhibits for the whole family to enjoy.

"Great for Kids!"

We have been to the Rochester museum and Science Center & Strasenburgh Planetarium a handful of times.  They always offer different shows and have extra exhibits in the halls for the kids to look at.  It has some very useful information and a great way to burn some of their energy.  The show admission prices are fair, but if you become a member you can always get a better deal.  The actual planetarium is pretty big and seats quite a few people!

"Lots to do"

So many exhibits to explore, including traveling exhibits.  The kids love to go upstairs and build with Legos, see how a pulley works, light up a bulb, and more.  On the main floor they have a way for you to be a meteorologist, take a simulated flight, and climb around in their "maze."  Each exhibit has something kid friendly so they won't get bored, and parents can still enjoy themselves.

"Fun with the Family"

Excellent exhibits on science and technology, anthropology, geology, regional history, women’s cultural heritage, and the Seneca Nation can be found here. The planetaium schedules regular laser and sky shows.
