Admission is expensive. We purchased a package from a local TV station, so if you are going here, be sure to look for coupons! My son was amazed by the "upside down house" as he calls it. There is a lot to see and do inside! Some things we are still wondering about, and can't figure out if it was real or not. My son still brags about laying down on a bed of nails! He loved the hurricane simulator and the creepy pictures! It's a really neat place, but I'm not sure if it's worth the price you pay to get in...if you pay full price!
This entire building is packed full of interesting things. So many times we did wonder... is that really true? Is that even possible? The pictures and artifacts are amazing! This is a really cool place to visit!
If you like the books Ripley's Believe it or Not you will LOVE seeing all of these things in person.
If you get a Ripley package, then this is worth the time. It's neat, but it's not worth what they charge. The little ones will love it. I would rather do the Aquarium though. It is a much better passing of my time. The believe it or not Titanic is cool though. Kids will love it because they believe everything and since it borders magic, this will appeal to all ages. I would say if you had nothing else to do then this would be okay.
This is one awesome place! You could literally spend hours upon hours discovering neat, cool things about the people of this world (and others :) It's really fascinating to kids and it's a good choice for the parents too. Doesn't require standing in lines or riding fast roller coasters.
I wouldn't go back to another believe it or not if it was free. I have seen the show and read the books and loved it, but the attraction is a waste of time and money. Everything is cheesy and cramped together. its hard to read anything with herds of people all around. Its a waste of money, take my word for it.
My husband and I went here one night while walking in downtown Gatlinburg. It was pretty expensive but we decided to try it because the outside of it looked so interesting. It had some cool stuff in it, but I dont believe that it was neccessarily worth the money that we spent. If you have some extra cash on hand, it would be fun to try one time. I dont think that we would ever go back, but its fun to see once.
When my family visited Ripley's Believe it or not we expected a lot more as we had just left the Ripley's Aquarium and had a blast there. Believe it or not was fun but not a lot to look at. The older kids had a lot more fun than the younger girls. Another thing I don't like is once you leave through the exit doors you are dumped right into their arcade and another candy factory so of course wanted more. Not worth the ticket price but wasn't a complete ripoff
We've seen the show on TV so we were super excited to check out the actual museum. We should have stayed home and watched the show. It was stupid. It wasn't air conditioned, so we were super hot in July. One water fountain in the whole place was barely working. The displays were covered in dust. It was crowded, and it's hard to move around someone standing still.
If I had a free ticket and was passing by, I might consider going in, but I would not pay money to see it again. I should have just bought an ice cream cone across the street.
I guess there is a market for these places, but our group is not it. I traveled here with friends and a teenage along with us. He definitely thought there were better things to do in and near the Smokies than go through this tourist trap. Keep driving and go check out a view in the mountains.
