A 5.9-acre nature preserve, the park includes picnic tables, a boardwalk, observation decks and a hillside trail that follows Adobe Creek among the majestic redwood trees.
Redwood Grove is a tiny little patch of nature in the middle of residential Los Altos. There's no parking lot (only street parking available and a short walk down a driveway), as it's tucked behind several private residences.
Despite the fact that it's a relatively small grove, my 2 1/2 year old son has a great time whenever we come here. It's the perfect place to let him run couple laps around the picturesque wooden boardwalk that weaves through the redwoods.
I believe they have children's programs here, but we've only come in the mornings and have never seen more than a couple other people (usually elderly) strolling around the tiny park. There's a picnic table way out in the corner of the grove overlooking the stream. This connects to the always-entertaining Shoup Park, and when dry, serves as the ideal shortcut between the two areas.
While I'm tempted to give it 4 stars, it's just too small and we never spend more than 30 minutes here - just enough for a short hike with toddlers, or an extension to a morning or afternoon at the larger neighboring park.
