"Great place outside of the city"

We visited here on a trip out west and loved this place. It is well taken care of and makes a nice side trip to visit. The scenery is nice and kids of all ages enjoy seeing the wildlife. We prefer this, anyday, to the Vegas Strip. There were a lot of families with young children who seemed to be having a great time.  If you are in the area, don't miss this!

"Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area"

OMG! Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area is one of the most beautiful places that I have ever visited.  If you are visiting Vegas, it is well worth your time to travel 20 minutes to Red Rock.  The scenery at Red Rock is out of this world!  My family saw a Fox which was exciting!  Red Rock offers a great deal of entertainment for those who love the outdoors.  Bicycles are permitted in the park on the 13 mile paved course.  Also, for those who love camping, Red Rock offers camp spots.  Red Rock is a perfect stop for those driving cross country! After a few days on the Las Vegas strip my family was ready for a change of scenery and this was definitely it!

"Red Rock Canyon"

This has to be one of the most beautiful places on earth! It is a nice break from the hustle and bustle of the Vegas strip. You can drive the entire way around the park and see the scenery, or stop along the way and hike a little  or a lot. They have different trails rated by difficulty. Be careful - you need to have the right equipment and a lot of water to enjoy safely! Absolutely gorgeous!

"Fun"

OMGoodness. What beautiful scenery. You can trek with the family through gorgeous rocks and waterfalls. You can play in the water and it's not crowded. We saw native americans that were selling handmade jewelry. It was so neat! What a beautiful place!!

"Must see if you are in Vegas"

I was so surprised to find such a breathtaking wonder of nature so close to Las Vegas.  It was one of the highlights of my trip in fact.  My family spent several hours taking short hikes and climbing some of the smaller rock formations.  This is truly beautiful!  You will not be disappointed!

"Nice break from the casinos"

We stopped at the Red Rock Canyon in June. Being summer in the desert, it was quite hot when we went. We opted to drive the 13-mile loop. We got out to take a few pics. Although the red rocks are beautiful, it probably would have been more enjoyable at another time of the year.

"A Must-See!"

A mere 20 minutes west of the Strip, I recommend all visitors take the time to step away from the casinos and take in some of the natural beauty that Las Vegas has to offer.  One can enjoy wonderful hiking and climbing or just take a relaxing scenic drive around the one-way 13 mile loop.  If you are lucky, you might see a wild horse or burro.  And if you visit in March or April, you'll be blessed with seeing the gorgeous wild flowers in bloom.  Children will enjoy climbing on the rocks, taking some of the simpler hikes, and be sure to check out the Children's Discovery trail.  Red Rock is absolutely beautiful and I couldn't recommend it more!

"Great for a family day"

Especially in the Fall when the temperatures are pleasant, Red Rock is a great place to take your family for an afternoon of exploring and a picnic.  There are many great hikes on the loop, but the best for small children is the Lost Creek Children's Discovery Trail.  At the end is a small waterfall, but the hike is not too steep or long for small legs.  It is also handy that there are plenty of bathrooms on the loop.

"Great outdoors"

Red Rock Canyon is a great place for taking the family out for nature trips.  Located approximately 30 minutes away from the strip, which offers great views of different geologic features.  Lots of hiking trails and some are very family friendly.  I suggest going to the Visitor center first to get the scoop on the trails.  There are also lots of rock climbing, biking, and guided hikes/programs that ranges from nature walks to art classes.
