Park which features playground, sports fields, Multi-Generational Center, and community fishing at Red Mountain Lake
If you're looking for a place to take the family in the far east valley, then Red Mountain Park in Mesa is a good choice. There are 2 different covered playgrounds, multiple pavilions, lots of acres to roam and play, and a small man-made lake that is stocked with fish. According to a fisherman, different fish are stocked throughout the year. In April it was catfish, but there are also trout and a few others.
The playgrounds are not large, but my kids ages 3-12 had a really fun time and no one was bored. Some kids played and some watched people fishing in the lake. There are also ducks and minnows in the pond.
There are bathrooms at the park (we didn't use them, but they appeared to be fairly nice). The park looks like it is well maintained other than the fact that they didn't plant winter grass and so everything looks dead until summer comes. It is located directly across from Red mountain High School.
