Ok, I was mixed in giving this review. The actual indoor pool is amazing. It's great to have fun in the cold winter, and there's a slide, lap pools, little toddler pools, etc. However, both times I've been there have been problems, which were annoying. They close different areas of the pool for 'cleaning' at random times, for hours, and then you're stuck there with kids and nothing to do. Just to warn you!
Your whole family will love this! We went to Jackson Hole during the winter time. It was fun to go through all the shops, and see all the sites, but there wasn't much we could do on a budget activity-wise. The recreation center is wonderful, because it is affordable, the indoor pool has an olympic sized pool, as well as a kiddie pool, hot tub, sauna, water slide, etc. There are also two full-court gyms for basketball, volleyball, or whatever you might want to do. Surprisingly, it was not very busy, and therefore, we got to set up the gym for volleyball as a family. It was great!
Thanks to the transient nature of JH, the rec center offers a day pass for individuals and families to enjoy their facilities. Great indoor pool with kids play area. The best part if you have a toddler or preschooler is the toddler gym and toddler club programs. The Toddler gym entails balls, ride-on toys and other toys made available in the basketball court area of the center. For an extra fee you can do the toddler club, where they watch and play with the little ones while you can work out. If you're in JH in the winter and don't want to spend everyday on the slopes, this is a great place to go!
This winter we went to the center and happened to pick the day they were having their Valentine's day party, which was a bonus toddler play date!
