"A Shady and Inviting Neighborhood Park"

Behind the Ravenswood Historical Site, you will find one of Livermore's many small but scenic neighborhood playgrounds.  This may be one of Livermore's shadiest parks, thanks to the aromatic overarching branches of mature eucalyptus trees.  It is an ideal place to plan a summer playdate.

The two large play structures are standard, but safe and up-to-date, with covered plastic slides which won't get too hot even in the summer sun, and an ample padding of wood chips carpeting the play area.  There are swings and a teeter-totter.  The gentle hilly areas which surround the jungle gyms offer ample opportunity for kids to play 'explorer', go hunting for the perfect stick, or simply to run and yell.  There is a picnic table, but no bathrooms or other amenities, so don't plan on any such luxuries at this small park.

The gates to the neighboring historic site are often open on weekends and during special events, resulting in this playground becoming quite crowded at such times.  During the week, however, this is a tranquil park with relatively few visitors, a pleasant place to find some refuge from the pounding sun and let the kids run and dream.
