A Christmas Tree Farm with a wide variety of Christmas Trees that you can choose and cut yourself. There are some additional rustic activities for children to enjoy like the giant swings, free tractor rides, a fire pit that you can roast hot dogs or marshmellows at, picnic areas, large wooden xylophones and wreath making. Trees: Douglass Fir, Sequoia, Monterey Pine, Incense Cedar, Arizona Cypress, Swift Silver
While we did not actually buy a tree, because they were not the best looking trees, we had a fabulous afternoon here. We made wreaths (a big hit with the 11 year old girls in our group), had a picnic with a view of the ocean (a big hit with everyone), and swung on these very cool swings on LONG, LONG ropes...also with an ocean view (a hit with the 5 and 11 year olds, and surprisingly, with the grown ups, too). We roasted marshmallows, and ran down the hill. It was just a really fun afternoon. The people who run it are so very gracious. Plan to make wreaths at $10 a piece instead of cutting a tree and have a great time.
We really enjoyed cooking marshmellows over the fire, wandering through the trees, having a picnic, and playing on the giant swings. It was a little crowded on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, but we still had a great time. Oh, there were dogs off the leash everywhere, so if your children have a dog phobia, be prepared. Overall, we recommend this Christmas tree farm because it is easy to get to and in a beautiful location along the Pacific coast, and there are many activities to enjoy.
I do like this Farm for several reason. The drive to the farm doesn't involve a windy road. (My 5 year old son gets car sick pretty easily.) They have some nice activities at the farm beyond cutting a tree, but they don't involved cheesy bouncy houses and fake train rides. They have tractor rides and giant swings. They keep it simple but fun. I really love the giant fire pit that you can roast hot dogs or marshmallows at. There are also some nice picnic benches. The down side is that while they have a decent variety of trees, the quality of the trese aren't the best. You can cut down any size tree for $45, even the really huge ones, but in reality if you're looking for something about 15-18 ft tall, it's pretty hard to find one here. Our kids loved the tractor ride through the trees.
