I donated my saddle, all my tack AND my beautiful horse and because my mare was not exactly what Beth wanted, instead of telling me, she cut her feed back because of the cost, once I found out, (she did not tell me, someone else did). When I showed up, my horse was under fed, skinny and depressed. she also had alot of nerve as she wanted to charge me for feed! I gave her to a loving family that treated her like the wonderful horse she was. I will NEVER forget what Beth did to my horse, and I would not recommend that place to anyone! she is lucky I did not call the police for animal cruelty. The intentions seem good, but look behind the scenes!
This is a ranch that Beth Currier has created as a non-profit to allow people with disabilities the opportunity to access horses and a ranch experience. They even have a place where you can stay overnight that is wheelchair friendly. Since the owner, Beth, is in a wheelchair you can imagine that everything about the experience here is friendly for people with disabilities and their friends and families. Even school children from the local schools have had the opportunity to interact at the ranch.
If you havea disability and will be visiting the Central Coast area, you should give the ranch a call. They do not really charge any fees, instead they rely on donations from companies and a ton of free work from the owner herself, Beth. So for an inexepensive unique opportunity, this is it. Finally, the ranch also offers special days like for the visually impaired and Beth always has a ton of volunteers to help out. So even if you don't have a disability but you want to help out they would love it! You could probably even stay a night or two in exchange for the volunteering.
