Featuring over 250 animals and birds from around the world, Pymatuning Deer Park will spark new interest in animal life. While strolling through the wooded setting under a canopy of trees, visitors encounter both domestic and exotic animals including Siberian Tigers, African Lions, Camels, Black Bears, assorted Primates and of course, several species of deer.
Closed October to April
This place is like a wildlife sanctuary. It is small, but it is so SO fun and VERY interactive. Your kids will love it (and so will you!) because you get to pet and touch most of the animals, and you get to feed them biscuits. You purchase the biscuits at the gate or in the gift shop (the gift shop rocks too btw) and you can feed baby deer, black bears, monkeys, raccoon's, lemurs, baboons, grown black bears, camels, peacocks, zebras, etc. They have an amazinnnggg petting zoo too. You go in and you can pet free roaming cows, oxen, lambs, goats, miniature horses, piglets, ducklings, chickens, and other amazing craetures. There is a cafe where you can get treats and hotdogs and there is a icecream/popcorn shop in the back. The kids can go into a bird cottagfe when hundreds of free roaming and flying birds surround you and land on you!! its so awesome. There are pony rides too, my kids' favorite. They walk alongside you and your pony for about a 10 minute walk through a trail in the woods. Great photo op! Then, to relax and unwind you can visit the sweet playground in the shade (that's the best part about this zoo- its ALL SHADED!! yay!) and their playground has a wooden train, pirate ship, slides, and swings. Do not miss this great experience at Pymatuning Deer Park!
We heard commercials for this Deer Park and saw lots of billboards advertising! We figured we couldn't miss it! We walked in and were NOT impressed. Seeing and feeding the deer were interesting, but you can tell it is not a high budget kind of place. We thought it was a nice adventure, but nothing my family would return to. I had higher expectations for how much they must've spent on advertising!
We visited the park while last year. My daughter had so much fun feeding all of the animals. They have over 250 animals and birds from all over!
They also have pony rides and a small train ride. We all enjoyed the train ride and seeing all the deer. They even had some baby deer.
This small zoo offers train and pony rides as well as an opportunity to pet and feedthe animals. Small children especially seem to enjoy this stop. The park has over 200 animals, including lions, tigers, bears (oh my!), wallabies, kangaroos, and camels in addition to the favorite farm animals.
