"My favorite place in Brooklyn!"

Okay, so I'm biased. I absolutely love this park for its versatility.
Easily accessible by subway, the park caters to everyone without discrimination. From the Audubon center which offers free activities on Sat. ad Sun., to the Lefferts House Historic Homestead, to the Imagination playground (and the other one!); with a zoo too and walking trails along the lake, and let's not forget the pedal boats and ice rink, this park has it all.
We are a family easily satisfied by a playground and a picnic and some ducks to watch, so it's obvious that we'll be in our element here. But if you like a faster pace, the rink and boats (& zoo) should offer it.
There are places to eat (Maccas and Popeye) on Empire Boulevard within walking distance.
Wonderful in any weather, the park is fresh in Summer and beautiful in snow. This is truly a place you need to see.

"Fantastic park!"

A great park, not as well known as Central Park, only because it's in Brooklyn. This is a wonderful park, no matter what the weather. Families enjoy playing there in the spring, summer, winter and fall. It's perfect and a great place to head out for the day!

"Fun with the Family"

Centered around the terminal moraine of a retreating glacier, the 526 acres of this rustic retreat from the Brooklyn streets is like a trip to the country. Enter the park at Grand Army Plaza and pass underneath the striking stone Civil War Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Arch, inspired by Paris’s Arc de Triomphe. Head south toward the child-friendly Prospect Park Zoo, home to over eighty species ensconced in natural habitats. Nearby is the 1912 vintage carousel and the Lefferts Homestead, a chidren’s museum housed in an eighteenth-century Dutch Colonial farmhouse. Stroll over to the boathouse and rent a pedal boat for a cruise around Prospect Lake, spend some time at the Imagination Playground, go ice-skating at Kate Wollman Rink, or ride a horse from Kensington Stables along the bridle paths. When the tots get tuckered out, hop aboard the old-time trolley for a spin around the park.
