The Riverboat in Harrisburg is great to do for one time. The kids really enjoyed it, but it does get expensive to go if you have a large family. There's not really too much to see, but if you enjoy boats, then this might be a good stop to make while in Harrisburg.
From City Island take a ride on the Pride of the Susquehanna. The riverboat tour gives an excellent view of this riverside city. Kids love looking up at the underside of the six bridges under which you’ll pass, including the Walnut Street Bridge. Take your choice: You may sit indoors in air-conditioned comfort, where there is the Pride Galley for snacks and souvenirs, or on the lower or upper decks, where the wind blows through your hair.
From the riverboat you can see the wrought-iron railing around the grave of the city’s founder, John Harris. You can visit his home, the John Harris/Simon Cameron Mansion, at 219 South Front Street. This historic home was built in 1766 and now houses the collection of the Historical Society of Dauphin County.
