We were tipped off to this neat little trolley from a patron at the Lomita Railroad Museum. We decided to come on July 4th weekend and were pleasantly surprised that free rides were being offered throughout the holiday weekend. Otherwise, fares are $1 for unlimited rides (kids 6 and under are free)-totally affordable!
The trolley cars are replicas from the 1920's and have wooden seats and open air windows. They are super clean inside. You get to see the port with the huge cargo ships and cruise ships as a backdrop. My little guy enjoyed hearing the conductor ring the bell on the trolley and see the gate open and close as we boarded the car. There are four stops along the route, including Fanfare Fountain (water show) and Ports O' Call (seafood restaurants) and you can get on and off as you wish. We parked in a free lot near the Downtown/6th St stop, which is also near the Maritime Museum.
