The Nature Center has free live animal demos every Saturday at 1pm. We got there a little late this past weekend and the room was too crowded for my kiddos and their cousins but we hope to return for another demonstration. The visitor center has live snakes and toads on display, which the kids (ages 1-6yo) had fun looking at. We went on the Heritage Trail, which was short and easy. We were able to take a stroller with ease. We also went to the Oak of the Golden Dream without a problem. We hope to return to do some other hikes, including one that leads to a waterfall.
The Placertia Nature Center is a great place to take the kiddos. They offer Nature Walks and a free animal presentation os Saturday afternoons. My daughters favorite part of the presentation is being able to pet a live snake. There are also many different hiking trails fo rthe more adventurous types. This is a wonderful place that any age kid would enjoy.
I love this place! I have gone here since I was a child and have had the wonderful experience to take my own children. They love it! so much information and interesting local wild animals. Even though this place is free it does ask for donations to be able to continue its conservation and preservation work. Because I am a local, and I dont want to lose this historic place I always bring a generous donation when I visit. For something to do, and for an excuse to get out and do some nature walking nd discovering I say check out the Placerita Canyon Nature Center.
