Pilgrim Lake Sand Dunes

"Fun with the Family"

The Pilgrim Lake area of the Cape Cod National Seashore is the only place along the national seashore where visitors can legally walk over the enormous sand dunes that roll across this part of the Cape. Previous visitors have worn away much of the sand and, with it, the beach grass that covers and preserves the dunes; therefore, the National Park Service restricts foot traffic on the dunes to this area.
