"Best Beach for Toddler's on San Mateo Coast"

This secluded cove is ideal for small children.  It is protected from wind and large waves by rocky promontories on both sides.  At the north end of the beach is a teensie wading inlet with shallow and very clean water. The sand is soft and deep with few rocks. My 18 month old daughter had no trouble waddling her fat little rump right in!

The entire beach is tiny- large enough for maybe 3-4 groups to spread out comfortably.  There are disgusting porta potties at the parking entrace.  Unless you are struck with Montezuma's revenge, do as the crabs doo doo and go in the sand.

Sadly, the lighthouse itself has undergone structural damage and is no longer open for tours.
