Dates for 2012: Aug. 3-5
Indie roots music (folk, bluegrass, soul, blues, jazz, indie rock, acoustic, etc.) music festival held annually at beautiful Pendarvis Farm provides acres of lush meadow and forested campgrounds with hiking, audience views of Mt. Hood, food and craft vendors, beer gardens, fruit picking galore, beautiful site and stage design, fresh water, an array of shade and venue covering, and much more. Kids under 12 are free when the family comes to Pickathon and will be greeted by a continuous array of planned kid activities and performances throughout the weekend. Pendarvis Farm includes classic wooded Oregon hiking trails to take a break and enjoy peace and nature.
The Pickathon strongly encourages families to attend, and a specific portion of the campground will be set aside for families that choose to use it. Pickathon will have Pickathon Radio broadcasting the Mountain View and Fir Meadows stages on 90.1 FM so parents can listen in from anywhere in the campground. So when parents are putting the kids to bed or just hanging out back at the campsite, they can stay connected the whole time. Portable toilets and hand washing stations are located throughout the venue and campground. There will be both a new lovely shower and sauna facility onsite provided by Oasis Express. A shower will cost $5. A comfortable waiting area will be located close to the Oasis showers. The shows on select stages (not all stages) do run past midnight. However, the festival area is large (80 acres) and the family designated camping areas are set aside specifically to cater to parents with children.
