We have a family membership to this museum, which is a focused around car culture in the United States (in particular, southern California). The exhibits are great and the cars are pretty cool (even for someone like myself who knows little about cars). The best kept secret is the family area on the 3rd floor, which has kid-friendly exhibits and a variety of activities: arts/crafts, dress-up, books, and of course, lots and lots of cars.
This museum, opened in 1997 and already a landmark by virtue of its striking, futuristic design, celebrates L.A.’s icon, the automobile—its history and role in the
development of Southern California. In its 300,000 square feet of exhibition space, you’ll find more than 200 cars and motorcycles, plus loads of fascinating automotive memorabilia.
