Shade and a place to hide from the sun can be hard to come by in regard to local playgrounds but this one hits the mark. My kids love this playscape- it's sprawling with tons of great areas to play, hide, clime, slide and swing. A great playscape to run some pent up energy out of your kids without melting in the summer sun.
Georgetown has some great parks, many of them have playscapes for younger kids, and are near the river, they are well kept, you can feed ducks, swim at the lake, and fish. Many of them are joined by a hiking trail that follows the san gaberial river, very pretty, very scenic, and lots of friendly people. also great opportunities for picinics and people watching.
This is a very unique playground full of mazes, strength type actvities, tire bridges, tunnels, - have never seen anything like it! I can imagine the wood may get a little hot as the day goes on, so a.m. is best. My kids love it. It's a great stopping point on your way out of Austin to burn some energy.
