This is a secluded beach on the North Shore that usually has calm waters during the spring. Snorkeling folks love exploring the numerous schools of fish in the waters.
There are big trees overhead that provide a nice shade from the Hawaiian sun. Since it takes some effort to get here, there are normally not many people populating the beach.
For adventurous families, this is a great beach to park yourselves at for half a day or more. The trek down is definitely a bit thrilling in flip flops, but doable. We packed our 1 year old in an Ergo and made our way down to the beach with no problems.
The sand was perfect and the water was calm for young children. Our son is still a bit afraid of the water, but enjoyed playing with the rocks and sand on the beach.
All the way to the right, you'll find a low rock ledge that's fun for older children to climb up and jump off into the ocean.
