The Oregon State Fair has plenty of activity for all. Carnival rides, concerts, animal exhibitions and a special area called Familyville, featuring free exhibits like; circus performances, a petting zoo and a "fun with Physics" interactive area.
In 2010 the Fair will be held Aug. 27 - Sept. 6th
We enjoy going here each year. However the rides do add up if you have a few kids! We look at the animals first usually and that usually is really exciting for the kids. Then we like to sit and watch the horse shows for a while, walk thru the booths, get some food, listen to music or watch a show (free) if you get a schedule they have certain showings throughout the day. I know one is a magic show for kids. They have one day that is cheap entrance fee if you bring some canned goods. There is a huge indoor exhibit area as well but with kids we usually don't get to that. The rides/games area is nice. A good range of rides...
Our Family went to the Oregon State Fair last summer and we had a great time. My son was too young to go on the rides, but we got to look at all the booths and exhibits in the buildings. There are great photography displays and the commercial building is fun to wander and see everything you never knew you needed....
We attended this and it was a lot of fun, just like every other fair you've been too. The one thing that really stood out to us is that there is a ton of parking! We went on one of the busiest days and there was still a ton of parking left. Everyone we encountered was really nice and super friendly with our daughter which was really appreciated.
This state fair has a home-town feel but with all the amenities and conveniences one would hope for in an event this size. The diversity of exhibits and vendors does not disappoint and the livestock and horse shows are always a big hit. The concerts continually attract big names and the food is incredible!!!
