I am a teacher and I really thought it was neat to see this. The school house is so small compared to what we expect these days. The talking "students" are a bit outdated but it is pretty neat to see it all.
The gift shop has lots of cool stuff in it and everything was not outrageous in price. It was neat.
This is a tiny attraction that features the old wooden schoolhouse with animated dolls reenacting a typical school day. There are old books on display, and the presentation tells you a bit about the history of the schoolhouse. It's really warm in there so luckily the presentation is short. There's also a nice garden, an outhouse and a kitchen area on display. The gift shop has great school-related items available. All in all, it was cute, but short.
This was a cute little place, the animatronics (did I spell that right) were a little dated and scared my daughter (age 3) but both of my kids loved the garden area and all the items in it (the giant pot, outhouse, garden chairs and table.) and smelling the flowers, chasing a couple squirrels too.
Students can appreciate how colonial kids learned their lessons and can receive a diploma of their own. An audio-animated schoolmaster and dunce explain elementary procedures in colonial days, pointing out the dungeon under the staircase, to which unruly students were sentenced. Explore the lovely gardens outdoors and ring the old school bell. The gift shop carries school-related items.
