During our visit to Fearrington Village & Farm, we were tempted to try the highly acclaimed Fearrington House Restaurant, but with two little ones in tow we thought it best to nosh elsewhere. We're so glad we did!
The interior of Old Granary is farmhouse chic; clean, light walls, exposed wood beams and gnarly wood floors. We were sat immediately by a bubbly hostess, and greeted soon after by our server (who brought with him kids menus and crayons). Our party ordered a good variety: challah french toast, The Granary omelet w/o meat, meatless eggs benedict and The Granary chopped salad. All were served quickly and to order. The challah french toast was out of this world, and had my younger children shouting "challah!" for the remainder of the day.
OCD parents will appreciate that the restrooms are nearly removed from the restaurant itself; you must go through the rear dining areas to a separate building. Restrooms were clean and well stocked at our visit, but seemed dated in a not-so-quaint way.
Note: This is not a weekly eatery, unless you have plenty of wiggle room in your budget. Adult plates can be generous; consider splitting an entree.
