Since its founding in 1902, the North Carolina Museum of History has been an exciting place to explore North Carolina history. The museum encourages visitors to discover the past; to reflect on their own lives and their place in history; and to preserve state, regional, and local history for future generations.

"Role of Women "

Mere steps away you’ll find the North Carolina Museum of History, which is surprisingly unstuffy and fun for a history museum. The museum is divided into four sections, each depicting a part of North Carolina’s history. Included are displays that present a chronological history, the role of women in the state’s history, folklife, and sports. Artifacts tell North Carolina’s story from the earliest settlements on Roanoke Island as well as the state’s role in the Revolutionary and Civil Wars. You’ll also find the Capital Area Visitors Center here.

"Lots of Learning"

The NC Museum of History is a good place to visit if you want to learn about all of the amazing things that happened  in NC. This museum is best for older kids as there is a lot of reading and exhibits that require you to have a brief understanding of US history. Some of the most interested exhibits include the first in flight and women of NC.
