Here is a nice place you would want to do a little shopping and get a bite to eat. I think the little ones would get a little bored in the stores, but the pre-teen and teens who love to shop would think it's great. There is a unique charm about walking these blocks! It's a more relaxing type of atmosphere and if you like to shop, then this is where you want to go!
Great place to window shop or purchase high end designer clothing or accessories. People watching is always fun here. Great restaurants. Worth the walk, well shaded. Kids might tolerate for a short while. More of a tween, teen and adult attraction.
Newbury Street has got to be the busiest street in all of Boston. Rain or shine no matter what time of year it is crawling with people, street vendors, etc. All the shops are amazing, but rather expensive. Newbury Street has coffee shops, designer shopping, hair salons, spas, knick-knack stores, etc.
I loved shopping and walking around Newbury Street, it was a nice little getaway from the touristy areas of Boston. There are amazing one of a kind shops there and I think I walked well over a mile looking in all of them. Some of them were high priced, but this area is very much worth checking out. There were also so amazing places to eat and people watch. The Italian bakeries were the best and the food was so authentic. If you are visiting Boston, you need to plan to spend the day just to visit Newbury street and shop, it is amazing.
Newbury Street is Boston’s boutique row. Designers’ shops rule the roost here, though there are plenty of other businesses, including art galleries, several excellent secondhand clothes shops, Gap, Abercrombie and Fitch, designer boutiques, and many others. Whether or not you enjoy window shopping, it’s also a nice street for walking, since the sidewalks are slightly wider and there are lots of sidewalk cafes that will tempt you to rest for a while over a drink or a light meal.
