Here's a great beach, with restrooms, changing areas, and outdoor hoses to wash off. Snack bar and lifeguards too.
Lots of parking, but you will pay at least $10, maybe $15. However, if you are a late day beach family, like we tend to be, after 4:30 you park for free!
Worthwhile visit, not only for the clean sandy beaches, but expansive shoreline and beautiful ocean waters.
Nine miles long and backed by high dunes, this is one of the Cape’s best beaches. If you’re willing to walk a bit, Nauset Beach is so long that you will be able to stake out your own territory even on the busiest summer weekends. If you want to stay near the lifeguards, however, keep within the marked area.
There’s a large bathhouse with restrooms, changing rooms, and showers; there’s also a good snack bar with outdoor picnic tables. On Mondays in July and August from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., there are free bandstand concerts at the gazebo. Everything from folk to rock ’n’ roll can be heard. Children like to dance down front, and couples can walk the beach and still hear the music.
