We visited this museum during the Casper Pioneer Days, and there were terrific period displays outside, with a real canon, wagons, horses, pioneers and soldiers. The inside of the museum features a replica of Independence Rock, and many interactive displays. The kids particularly enjoyed the stagecoach recreation and the crossing of the Platte River in a wagon. They also liked the interactive movie in the wrap around theater. We spent several hours, and the adults probably could have spent more time! We will be going again as we study more about the Oregon Trail.
