I can only give this place three stars. On the positive they had a really nice outdoor bird show. The birds seemed to be well cared for and the habitats were spacious. The penguin exhibit was quite nice and there was even a place for the kids to crawl through and see the penguins underwater. The big negative is that it is still under major construction so we really didn't get to see everything but the price was still a normal price. It was around $12 to see less than half the facility. I don't have any intention of going back for a long time and certainly not before everything is completed.
to make the most of your time at the aviary look up the special event times through out the day so you can move from one activity to the next. they usually do a penguin show and there are bird feedings, etc. Its a nice place to kill some time especially for those 4-7 year old crowd.
I went with my 2 year old and found it ok. I think for older children, it would have been better. We liked viewing the newborn owlets. There were not many interactive exhibits, very old school type of museum. I wish there were more birds to view.
