If your family is tired of playing putt-putt at the beach, consider stopping by the NASCAR SpeedPark to ride go-carts instead. There are slower tracks for the kids, bumper-boats, and games in an arcade to play. For the older kids and adults, there are larger race tracks that around twenty go-carts can race on. The only downfall to this place is the price because each race requires a certain number of tickets, which must be purchased upfront. But if you compare the price of this with putt-putt, I imagine it wouldn't be a huge difference, plus it's a fun change!
NASCAR speed park can be costly and not seem worth the money on a very crowded day but if you go on a day that its supposed to rain and get lucky the place will seem like its all yours. They have go karts for all ages and you can even drive with your kids for the lil young ones. After a few hours you can pretty much do every track probably twice or more. The kids of course will love go karts and I bet most adults will too!!
If you have young children under 6 or 7 I would suggest finding a babysitter if you plan on visiting here. I only took my 1 month old and we were still limited in what we could do since one had to sit out with him at each activity. If they are not old enough to enjoy arcade games and can't be in a go cart don't bring them. They do have an awesome cafe and great shopping and eating spots in close proximity.
It has so many different things you can do such as games inside out of the heat with prizes that you can win! Then you go outside and you get to race your heart out! They also have ones that you can ride as a person with a drivers lisc. they go fast haha!
The resturaunt part of this is closed up and I don't know why they don't clost the whole thing together. The past two times we've been here they have had almost every go cart ride closed and the golf course was closed also. There aren't even very many working video games left either, they should save money and close up!!!
We went to the NASCAR SpeedPark in june 2009. We were there at opening time so the crowds weren't too bad. There were half a dozen go-cart rides, two were for kids. As far as go-carts go, they weren't too bad. The bumper boats were a joke. If you tied one to the rail with toilet paper, I doubt it would have enough power to break free. There was a decent rock climbing wall and an 18-hole mini golf course that wasn't too bad. There was a large arcade room but who would pay to get in then pay too much to play video games?
