"Awesome - worth your time!"

After a few days of beach and pool time, I did this little adventure with my 6 and 8 year olds. It was such a great, but quick, outing. A pretty short walk across dirt paths, then down some rocky areas, and finally over big rocks. Especially after only being in the beaches, this was a beautiful chance to be among more lush surroundings, and down by the blowhole, felt like we were on the moon! I would recommend tennis shoes or hiking shoes - not flip flops. There's a little dirt parking lot right at mile marker 38. The whole thing probably took us an hour - and that included a LOT of time exploring and climbing around down by the water. Have fun!

"Great Experience"

Our family of four all throughly enjoyed the Nakalele Blowhole.  The hike to the blowhole was easy for our 6 and 8 year olds. The blowhole was impressive on the day we visited, shooting anywhere from 4 to 20 feet in the air.  Also a great place to take beautiful pictures!

"Be Careful if you have toddlers that run"

My son was so excited that he ran ahead of me while I was folding the stroller and he lost control and was quickly running downhill unable to stop himself. I sprinted full on to catch him and couldn't (I am an athlete and a long distance runner!) Luckily for me he fell down or he literally would have fallen off a cliff. I almost lost my child here. Hold your toddlers hands!!

"Pretty Cool"

I would recommend checking out the blowhole.  It is located in the northern part of the island and requires a short down hike to get to it, but is accessible to just about anyone.  As you travel up the road look for a small dirt parking off the west side of the road.  There is also a small wooden sign that marks the spot.  Hike down the cliff area to the blowhole.  There are huge crashing waves coming into the rock which are fascinating to watch.  The water then shoots out of the blowhole and is also very cool to see.  This is a fun little stop to make if you are up in the northern part of the island.  Check it out.

"Mild hike with a breathtaking view"

North of Kapalua

Our whole family really enjoyed this hike.  At the time I was a newlywed with no children, but our youngest niece was not quite two and she was able to make it to the blow hole with a little help.  You climb well defined trail and then climb down a bit, which was a little tricky.

The blowhole itself was amazing.  A very deep hole in the rock that blows ocean water into the air in varying amounts depending on the surf.  If you go find out tide information and plan a time that is close to high tide for the most dramatic effect.  Make sure small children are kept close since when we visited there was no boundary around the deep and very dangerous hole in the rock.
