A day-use area at College Pond offers picnicking, swimming, fishing, canoeing. Fifteen miles of bicycle trails, 35 miles of equestrian trails and 13 miles of hiking trails take visitors deep into the forest, which includes one of the largest contiguous pitch pine/scrub oak communities north of Long Island.
Bike, hike, fish, or swim at Myles Standish State Forest, just a twenty-minute drive from Plymouth. The 14,635-acre park was Massachusetts’s first state forest when it was created in 1916.
There are 16 miles of quiet walking trails, bike and horseback riding paths, fifteen ponds (two are designated for swimming; the rest are for fishing), and lots of picnic spots in the forests and meadows.
