We have been to the Los Angeles Zoo more than 15 times and never went into Muriel's Ranch. What a treasure we have missed out on all these years. You will find 15 goats many of them under one year old. Sheep are also in the yard to pet. These animals are the most mild mannered and sweet petting zoo animals we have come across. You can tell these animals are so loved and well taken care of. What I found endearing was the rest zone. This is a roped off area that when a sheep or goat enters it means they are on a rest and do not want to be bothered. My daughter felt so at ease around these animals. It was nothing like the traveling petting zoo's we have come across. Those animals always seem nervous and on edge. There are also brushes available to brush the animals. The zoo does not allow hand feeding.
