We live by Muncie Chrildren's Museum and went a lot when our son now 10 yrs old was a lot younger.... They Have a lot to offer children ages toddler - 8yrs or so.... depending what they like. But most things are for preschool / pretend play age group.... We took our son there last year with a few younger family members who were 2-3 they LOVED it our son was really bored . This is a wonderful place if you want to kill a few hours inside, not an all day event. But price is wonderful. If you do have a family with younger and older kids they do have a FEW things for older kids and a gift store where you can do sand art in a jar for $1.00 each... We kept our son happy with the sand art while other family members played in the museum.
Ever since I was a child I loved Muncie Children's Museum! Although the exhibits don't change much it is a really fun place to take the kids if you are in the area! You can learn to draw Garfield (he is from that area), you can climb in an ant hill, look for dinosaur fossils, and place with little boats in the water! They also have a really good Haunted Basement to take the kids to around Halloween! I would not go hours and hours out of the way for this place but if you are visiting and have time you should go!
Muncie Children's Museum is a great way to spend an afternoon. Is it as good as the Indianapolis Museum? No, but for a local fun afternoon it is great. Price was very reasonable and you can always find discounts if you search. many interactive exhibits and also many that are just fun to look at. I highly recommend
Compared to other children's museums, the Muncie Children's Museum is small in size, but there's still a great deal of fun to be had!
The museum is more geared toward younger guests who can find dozens of activities to participate in, riding on a tractor, climbing in a lifesize ant farm, playing with water, and climbing in a real semi.
The Muncie Children's Museum is also a great place to have a birthday party!
