"One of my favorite areas"

I have skied all of my life, and we really value the time we have while we are skiing together. Ski Bowl is an 'old school resort'. You are not going to find high speed lifts, massive vertical, or giant lodges. This feels more 'mom and pop', and if you have bigger expectations, you will likely be disappointed.

Some people might groan that the chairs take too long, but for us, we like it. We ski 'unplugged', and this is the time to chat about things. It is amazing some of the conversations I have had with my 4-year-old on those chairs. Plus, it gives your legs extra time to rest between runs!

They have some of the steepest terrain in this part of Oregon (most of Mt Hood is relatively flat, unless you know where to go), and when you catch just the right weather, this place is heaven. It sits at a lower altitude than the other areas, so when it is warm, it can make for a long, wet day.

The runs are better for people who have skied a little before.  I would classify the easiest runs as slightly more advanced than just beginner. There is a rope tow on the bunny hill too (no magic carpet, or anything along those lines).

I haven't been up in the summer, but have heard great things about their mountain toboggan rides and I believe they have some great mountain biking too.

I highly recommend this place!
