"Step back in time for a day!"

Got a school-age child who will be studying colonial America in the near future, or one who has recently learned about this period in American history?  Take the time to visit Morgan Log House, a beautiful restored 2-story house from the 1700s --  the only one of it's kind still surviving in America.  It was owned by the Morgans -- grandparents of Daniel Boone, one of America's most famous pioneers. You can tour the grounds and the house with the help of a guide in original costume.  My 10-year-old daughter and I have done the tour and the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable and make the experience unique. I learned all kinds of neat things and so did my daughter.

The House is open from April 1st through December 30th on weekends from Noon to 5pm. You can walk around the grounds on your own or take the 1-hour interior house tour (last one begins at 4pm) and learn about the house and the lifestyles of the 18th century Welsh Quaker pioneer families in this area.  Well worth it to take a guided tour -- you learn so much!! You can call ahead to arrange a group tour as well.

Great seasonal activities, workshops, craft shows and festivals as well where kids can participate in period games, activities and crafts!  Colonial Candelight Tour in December, Halloween Mystery and Mayhem in October, Apprentice Day in September etc.  Well worth the trip!
