"day under sun"

we can basically do anything that involved water here. there are several stores that rent kayak, boat, jet ski,wet suits, fins etc. boating is totally awesome, kayaking too of course, water skiing, jet skiing, a place to picnic, BBQ, biking, rollerblading, body boarding, skimboardng, snorkeling, and just about anything fun under the son. the western part of the beach is the Belmont park. There are so many restaurant to choose from. Surfside sushi near grand ave is highly recommended. Happy hour sushi are half price for selected very yummy rolls on Monday and Friday. What is better than that? The only setbacks is crowded parking. just be patient and you'll get a spot

"Stroller Strides"

When my son was a newborn I did a Stroller Strides exercise program here.  There is a very nice flat paved path that is great for a long stroller ride.  Great exercise and nice to get the baby out in the beautiful weather.  When we were done with our walk there were nice, shaded grassy areas to relax in and older children could play on the playground.

"Fun, Sun, and Free"

This is a great place to visit if your family is on a budget.  It is hard to beat free fun!!  Plus, there are several little places to eat that are reasonably priced. The weather in San Diego is heavenly!! The area is very well maintained and super clean.  We had a blast!!!

"A beautiful place!"

My family spent an afternoon on one of the beaches at Mission Bay Park. It was one of the best afternoons of my life. My daughters and I sat on the rocks and listened and watch as the waves hit. The temperature was perfect. The sky was blue. The beach clean. The girls played in the water and I just sat and watched and enjoyed the day. This is one of my most treasured memories.

"Nice park/beach located to restaurants"

Mission Bay is nice because there's a lot of park area and the beach is right next to it. If you get bored you could walk to the nearby shops and restaurants. It's nice to go when it's hot, but not too hot. Sometimes it can get a little windy and makes it colder than it seems. Great picnic setting.

"A great place to spend the day"

Mission bay has a lot to ofeer. The bay itself is a great place to launch a boat or go skiing. The park surrounding the bay has a couple of very nice playgrounds and several places to have larger events. The bay does not offer an over night option and if you park your RV here overnight they will give you a ticket so the key is to get here early but don't plan to stay overnight. The fourth of july and other holidays tend to be very crowded here, so we stick to the weekdays!

The best activity here for our family is kit flying. This park offers a lot of open space and a great breeze. If you go here you will notice many others do the same.

"Great beaches"

Mission bay has a wide variety of beaches, space to play and even playgrounds for the kids. We enjoyed exploring the various beaches and open space with our little ones while we were here. There are lots of open space and the day we were there in August it wasn't as crowded as I had expected.

"Great for small children"

I took my 2 and 3 year olds here because they love the beach but are a little intimidated by the waves. The water was so warm, and rather clean. It was not very busy, and lifeguards were on watch close by.  It was a perfect day at the beach! The only down side, is I didn't see any showers to hose them off before getting back in the car. They did, however have nice bathrooms.

"Fun with the Family"

The park is on a former mudflat transformed into a 4,600-acre aquatic playground by creative dredging, filling, and landscaping. You can easily worship outdoor recreation at its finest here: swimming, power boating, fishing, sailing, volleyball, softball, horseshoes, bicycling, roller-skating, kite flying, Frisbee tossing, and jogging—framed by 27 miles of beaches on Mission Bay and 17 miles of Pacific Ocean frontage. Spread throughout Mission Bay are great resort hotels and campgrounds. The Bahia Belle is an old-time stern-wheeler that plies the bay between the Bahia and Catamaran Hotels most evenings during the summer and weekends in the winter.

"great place to bike"

this is a great place to bike -- nice flat pavement that goes almost all the way around the bay. there are places to rent bikes nearby, so even non-locals can participate. probably takes about an hour. it's also a great place with calm waters for young kids to go wading in the water. much calmer than the beaches on the other side by the ocean.
