This zoo is large, clean, not crowded, and has a wide variety of animals. However, there is not a lot of shade, so in the summer, be sure to wear sunscreen and bring a hat! There are many picnic tables, and two big play areas for kids. There are also water sprays all over the park to cool off, and they have several water fountains throughout the zoo. It may take about half a day to get through the zoo, so plan ahead!
This zoo is so much fun! So many animals to be seen. Would suggest that you do get there early as it is a pretty decent size and takes a while to get around the whole thing. Food is good and not very expensive. There are animal shows too. Tigers, elephants, kangaroos, birds, reptiles and so many other critters. We took our 4 kids at the time and they all had a blast (ages 1 year through 8 years). Dont forget to pick up a wax animal on your way!! I still have mine from a field trip I took about 17 years ago!! :)
This zoo is great! It is big and has lots to do and see! Give yourself a whole day to get through it all! There is a great playground where the kids can play and you can get a little break from walking. It does get very hot, so pack some water and maybe use a portable fan on the stroller. But the Metrozoo is a great place for the family!
The Miami Metro Zoo was a gem. It rivals the Bronx Zoo & Animal Kingdom, and really should be referred to as more of a "jungle habitat"! The park grounds are magnificent, and the animal exhibits are wonderful and plentiful. The addmission fee includes a future visit for only $5 if you keep your ticket stub :)
The wildlife shows are amazing with a wide variety of animals demonstrating different behaviors. Not only while being amazed it is also very educational. You can also enjoy being a zookeeper for a day. While assisting a zoo kepper for a day as they care for the animals. The exhibits of animals range from jaguars to anacondas.
Komodo dragons, koalas, wallabies, white Bengal tigers, and Himalayan black bearsare among the 225 species of animals that call this 300-acre habitat home. To hold the interest of the tiny, there is a playground, rides, a petting zoo, and a meerkat exhibit. Ecology and wildlife shows take place all day long. An air-conditioned mono-rail helps you get around the vast grounds.
Its a good zoo. It is best you rent one of the bikes they have that holds a family of 4. Its a large zoo. There ia a lot of walking in between one animal station and the other. Its best that you go in the cooler seasons. fall and winter. In the summer walking the zoo can be dreadful. Its a typical zoo. There are indoor areas and outside areas. They have a monorail to get you around the park. There is a play area for children to play. Its a nice place to spend the day.
