The Memphis Zoo, located in Memphis, Tennessee, is home to more than 3,500 animals representing over 500 different species. The zoo's animal inhabitants reside in 19 exhibits in three zones, such as Northwest Passage and China, home to Giant Pandas Ya Ya and Le Le.
I have taken my kids twice this past year. It was great. It was raining one day and we still had a great time. There are days at the Memphis Zo the you can go and not pay admission. We took snacks and ate before entering the zoo. We bought pop in souviner glasses, So we had something to take home to remember the day. They have alot of animals that the kids enjoyed but I think the snake house was the most liked exhibit. It is a great time for kids any age.
We like the Memphis Zoo and love the new exhibits with the Northwest Passage. The bears are great. My kids especially enjoy watching the polar bears swim around and play. Some of their exhibits are still old and make me sad. If they ever get new homes for the elephants, hippos, and rhinos, I will enjoy it more.
A favorite place to visit in this family. Being that we live less than a hour away and admission is not too terribly high it is fun all around. Lots of animals to see and great atmosphere to view them in. in the past 5 years they have been remodeling and it has paid off. It is really amazing. Be sure and plan to spend the day but it will take that long to fit everything in. Small children will love the petting zoo and the rides. Some adults too. Lots of things being added so i cant wait for the spring to visit again. If you are from out of town check their website for great hotel packages.
Good zoo for the kiddos. Fun stuff to learn and look at. Clean and vibrant and all in all a good time. It may take more than one day to get through but it is worth it. Friendly atmosphere and if you catch good weather it is even better. Good location also, seems to be close to some hotels.
The zoo is lots of fun and admission is free on Tuesday afternoons with a Tn drivers license. The Panda exhibit is great. There is also a playground, train rides around the park and picnic tables outside. The zoo is an all day adventure for the whole family.
What a great resource for those close too Memphis. This zoo has something for everyone with great exhibits and habitats. Getting to watch the spider monkeys chase each other is worth the price of admission alone.
