It is free to go on Tuesday afternoon after 1 pm. I took my girls one afternoon and they had a wonderful time. It was raining that day so we chose a great day to go.. The Piggly Wiggly store was my children's favorite display.. They loved seeing the prices of what things cost in "the back days"! They also have great gift shops!
Pink Palace has lots to offer. If it is a great learning experience for kids. Lots of hands on learning to enjoy. The IMAX and Planetarium is a definite must see. Enjoyed this place as a child and have been many times since then. But as with most museums for kids bring money because there is a gift shop and you know you will not make it out the door without visiting. Does not take a lot of time to visit so you can always stop by the zoo too. It is right behind the Pink Palace.
I LOVE this place and have since I was a child taking fieldtrips there myself. The exhibits are great as is the atmosphere itself. I would be sure to take extra money for souvenirs, as with any museum, because the kids are sure to want something on their way out the door!
