This popular 28-acre park includes acres of lawn that are ideal for family picnics, a gazebo overlooking our beautiful pond, an amphitheatre, a lighted softball field, and six lighted tennis courts. Memorial Park is centrally located, being adjacent to the Cupertino Senior Center, the Quinlan Community Center, and the Cupertino Sports Center. Memorial Park also includes a reservable picnic/barbecue area that accommodates up to 110. There are many additional family picnic areas that are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
This park is better during the summer. When I took my son there duing one of the spring months, the park looked dead. They have fountains and little ponds, however, when I went there last time, the water was emptied out and everything was dry. Their playground area was nothing special. They had an average swing and slide structure. I had gone there the first time during the summer and it seemed much better then. Maybe the empty lake/pond area made it looked abandoned?
This is a beautiful park with a manmade lake, a community center, BBQ pits, tennis courts, an outdoor amphitheater softball diamond, and a veterans' memorial. There are also restrooms and a Jamba Juice, Hobee's, and other food choices within walking distance. But there are excessive amounts of duck poop everywhere. Be careful where you and your kids step!
Took the kids to my old stomping grounds. Geese were friendlier when I was a kid. The modern versions scared the bejeezus out of my kids with their aggressive behavior. My daughter, undeterred, kept trying to feed them. Until we saw the sign saying, "don't feed the geese; it makes them more aggressive." Oops! Oh well, good times were still had by all.
