This place is beautiful. We rented it for my daughter birthday. You can rent the atrium or the old house on the hill. We rented the house and picnic area. It was great. If you go at the right time the place will be full of butterflies. Weddings would be beautiful here also.
This place proves that kids don't need lots of bells and whistles to have a great time. Nice walking paths wind through the gardens which change with the seasons. Flowers, bugs, breezes -- let the kids take their time to tell you about what they see and they'll amaze you!
A gazebo extends well into a large pond that has brightly colored fish and friendly ducks, which fascinate kids of all ages. A smallish play area with a sandbox kept my kids entertained for a few hours, letting the grown ups relax and talk.
Clean bathrooms in the entrance building, small entrance fee. No charge for parking or time limit once you're inside. Great place for a mellow afternoon of appreciating nature.
I came here for a wedding about 13 years ago. It is a lovely place to bring a stroller and wander around for an afternoon. Beautiful landscaping and lovely water features. Parking is plentiful. Or come by yourself and enjoy some time away from the kiddos.
Ninety-five acres of woodlands, park, flowers, and three sparkling lakes make this place a nice respite from sightseeing. There are picnic areas, a snack room, and a gift shop, plus educational programs (some for children) throughout the year. Check the Web site for the schedule.
