The sunrise tours leave at 2:15 A.M. and return by noon. The midday rides leave at 7:00 A.M. and return by 2:00 P.M. Children must be at least 4 feet, 10 inches tall and older than 12, and pregnant women are prohibited from participating.
You’re certain to spot groups of people riding bicycles down the mountain (much smarter than attempting to pedal up). For families with older children, this offers a way to absorb the beauty of the mountain with minimal physical activity. If your children are too young to participate in the downhill ride, they can buy a ticket to be a van passenger and still join in the fun. (Unfortunately they have to pay full price.) Both rides offer a continental breakfast and full lunch. Hotel pickups are available.
Note: The National Park Service has suspended all bicycle tours inside Haleakala National Park while assessing the Park’s capacity to safely accomodate an increased volume of visitors and tours operators on its roads. Bike tours begin at 6,500 ft. (not at 10,000 ft. summit). Please call for more informaiton.
