Since the Inaugural Game on July 15, 1999, Safeco Field has gained a reputation locally, regionally and nationally as a terrific setting for baseball and a great place for baseball fans. Sweeping views of Seattle's downtown skyline, breathtaking sunsets over Puget Sound, combined with excellent views of game action from all angles give fans at Safeco Field an experience unequalled in Major League Baseball.

Safeco Field is located just south of downtown Seattle. To the south is the "SODO District", home to a growing number of specialty retail businesses. To the east is the International District with its Asian restaurants and specialty shops. To the north is Pioneer Square, the original, historic "downtown" of Seattle. To the west reside the bustling Port of Seattle and the waterfront with restaurants and shops of all kinds. Many fans combine a trip to these wonderful locations with a day at the ballpark.

"Go M's!"

We love Safeco Field!  There are many price point options and lots to see and do.  Of course, the experience is better if you invest the money in good seats or even better, Diamond Club tickets, but fun can be had in any seat.   Nothing says summer like a baseball game and what a great venue for it.  Be sure to get there early as parking is hard to find and the crowds are generally thick.  I'd recommend that you start your kids off with cheaper tickets and work your way up to more expensive tickets.  If it's going to be a one time deal, then go for the most expensive ones you can afford.  Safeco is a beautiful venue and really worh the time and effort.  GO Mariners!

"America's favorite pastime"

We decided on a whim to go to a game when we were visiting Seattle.  Little did we know it was kids night.  When we got there, all the kids got a goodie bag and hats.  The kids got to go on the field during warm up and watch them drag out the home plate.  They rubbed their hands in the dirt and we took pictures on the field.  We then got to go behind the scenes and see the locker room and even meet a few players.  Now I know that not everyday is kids day, but I can only encourage you to make it a family affair, plan ahead and enjoy all the day has to offer.  Did I mention I was NOT a baseball fan???  If I can have a great time at a baseball game, then you will have a GREAT time if you love baseball.

"EVERY YEAR!"

We have taken our kids to Safeco 2years running, and will continue our tradition! This place is amazing, not a bad seat in the place! We went early, and got to watch batting practice.  Several players came over and introduced themselves to the kids, and signed baseballs! Kids had great fun, and so did we! A must do, every year!
There is a children's place that has a jungle gym and some toys, to take young children if they get bored.  We visited that area at least twice.  There are a lot of vendors coming up and down the seats, but not a lot of drinks for children (mainly the beer guy going up and down the aisles).
Children under 5 may have a hard time sitting and watching a 2 or 3 hour game, so it may be good to plan to get up and down quite a few times.

"Most beautiful ballpark in the states"

We go there quite often as we own Mariners season tickets.  While you are there with kids, go check out 1. kids area, 2. Mariners Team store, 3. walk around the third level, it has excellent view to the mountains and downtown Seattle.  If you have time, check out the stadium tour.  Don't forget to try the garlic fries.  Also, there are few M's employees walking around and giving away stuff(kid-size M's team banner, etc)

"American Ball"

We have been to Mariners games at Safeco Field on many occasions.  There is nothing that beats the Americans favorite pastime.  The food is expensive and so are the drinks but after all is said and done it is totally worth it.  Hopefully the Seattle weather cooperates for you, but in case it doesn't there is a retractable cover.  The announcing is great, the fans, are fierce, and the game although could be better the last few years is plain FUN!  The walking vendors are entertaining, the memorabilia sold is good quality, and the parking is not too bad.  Bring your camera.  Go Mariners!

"Great Tours"

My husband, my 14month old and I took one of their tours. Great tour but I wish I had left my daughter with relatives. Good for children that are older like 7 and up. There were so many great things to see. The tour took us through the stadium, the press box, the vip room and the guess locker room. Our favorite part was going out on the field and sitting in the Mariner dugout!

"Family Friendly Ballpark"

We were very please when we took our 5 year old and our 2 year old to their first baseball game at Safeco Field.  There is a non-alcohol family area available, which is fantastic.  Kids who are first timers can put their names up in a special area.  Both nights we had really nice ushers who gave the kids baseball cards.  My kids loved the chcoclate covered strawberry shishkebobs and fresh lemonade.  Best thing for us is we only had to buy 3 tickets because kids under 3 are free as long as the sit on a lap.  We are looking forward to going back!!

"Great stadium - fun for the whole family!"

We have been to Safeco Field several times, and have enjoyed every experience. The seats have great views, even the "cheap seats" where we have sat most often.

Your kids will love it here; if they are not watching the game they have a play area the young ones can enjoy for awhile.

A must for baseball lovers!

"Very Breastfeeding friendly"

We went to a Mariners game in May 2009 when my son was 4 months old.  The whole feel of the park is very family friendly and there were tons of other people with babies.  Our little guy is always pretty low key, but was a frequent eater.  I had no problem nursing in the stands, but when the sun got to be too much there was an indoor breastfeeding room where you could sit in comfy chairs, feed the baby and watch the game on TV.

I'm not a huge baseball fan in general, but I felt like this would be a great park to take kids of all ages.

"Awesome"

This is my family's favorite place to go when we are in Seattle. My favorite thing about this stadium is being able to smell the ocean from in the stadium. If at all possible, don't buy tickets for the bleacher seats in the upper outfield, you can't really see anything out there. You might as well pay a little more and get good seats.

"The stadium is cool and sometimes the Mariners win!"

I love going to Safeco Field and watching the Mariners- it's always a fun time!  And occasionally the Mariners actually win a baseball game, which makes it extra special.
This is a very nice, new stadium to watch baseball in. I've always sat in the cheap seats, but still feel very much a part of the whole game experience.  This stadium is known for its retractable roof- if the sun is shining, you'll be able to enjoy being outside, but if it's raining, you'll be kept dry while you watch the game. Genius!

We usually end up walking around the stadium at some point in the game and enjoying all it has to offer. Besides partaking in the food (sushi! shishkaberries!), we like to watch the pitchers warming up in the bullpen, or just hang out at the top of the expensive seating sections.  On particularly low attendance days, the people guarding the expensive seats might even let you go down and sit there!

If you're in Seattle during baseball season- check out a game. It really is a lot of fun.

"Gotta see at least 1 game"

This is a place that is soo cool to see the inside. Not to mention seeing the mascot :D I love watching him run around on a 4-wheeler and doing crazy skits. I wish food and drinks weren't as expensive as they are, but I guess thats what you get when you go to a game. I wouldn't suggest taking smaller children to the games.

"Take the Kids to See the Mariners!"

We always take the kids to go see the Mariners at least twice a year at Safeco Field. When the kids get a little bored you can always go visit the kids play area and let them get the wiggles out! Get there early to get your designated time pass to get in the play area (they do this during busy times of the season). This is a very busy place and to make it fair they only let a certain number of kids in every 15-20 minutes. Certain times during the year they have family night that will include your ticket and hot dogs for the family. Go Mariners!
