While the playground here is small, I love taking walks around the natural scene. It is a great place to set out a picnic or to take a "nature" walk. We like to watch the wildlife, pick up leaves, and watch the boats out on the water. It is a nice quiet place to interact with your child!
Mariner Point Park is located on the Gunpowder River in Joppatowne. According to the site the Park is a "37.7-acre waterfront park is on a penninsula located between Taylors and Foster Branch Creeks, and consists of undeveloped woodland, wooded areas, and developed areas for passive activities, including boat launching into the Gunpowder River."
The park is great for pictures and there are a number of places to picnic, grill and hold parties. There are a number of playgrounds and paved trails for biking, rollerblading and walking. Other activities include kayaking and canoeing, boating and hiking.
We love watching the squirrels and other marsh creatures. Its a really nice, quiet park and we enjoy going there with our children and pets.
