"Neat side trip for families"

When you visit Tybee Island Marine Science Center you can view marine life indigenous to Georgia's  coast.

The  exhibits display  avariety of fish, reptiles, invertebrates, corals and other interesting sea creatures. There is also a "touch-tank" with hermit crabs. The gift shop on site had all kind of neat little trinkets for my kids.  Was a small litlle place to visit that we included in a day at the beach.

The science center is located on Tybee Island, near the Tybee Island Pier.

Directions:

From Savannah, take Highway 80 East to Tybee Island. Highway 80 becomes Butler Avenue, our main street. Continue on Butler Avenue. (On your left, you’ll pass the anchor that divides the island into north and south.) At the third traffic light make a left onto 14th Street, drive about a block and you’ll enter the 14th Street parking. The science center is located at the end of the parking lot, next to the Tybee Pier.
