Tinkerbell leads this magical, dazzling night time parade along Main Street, U.S.A. through the Magic Kingdom.
Main Street Electrical Parade is a must-see parade for families visiting the Magic Kingdom! Hundreds of thousands of moving, sparkling lights illuminate Disney themed floats, all the while catchy music is pumped through the high windows of the buildings. Really catchy music. The viewing areas tend to be a premium and guests start lining up to view the parade an hour or so before it begins, so my family heads to Frontierland to view it. The parade begins on Main Street and ends in Adventureland so most guests head to the entrance of the Magic Kingdom to watch leaving open spaces at the end of the parade.
after a long exploring the rides, filling up on food, and shopping it is time to slow down and wine down with a parade, but scope out your seat early since it is standing room only. All of the disney characters come to life in lights and music. Our favorite was puff the magic dragon
SO awesome!! The parade is so neat. To see all of the nights in the nighttime is absolutely beautiful. The mix of live characters really brings this to life! It is cool to see all of the lights on the parade floats and see the coordination between the music and the various pieces of the parade. It is one of the best part of the nighttime of Magic Kingdom and it is a Disney tradition!
I am so glad the Main Street Electrical Parade is back at the Magic Kingdom. When I saw it again in 2011 for the first time since my childhood in the 1980's, I literally cried when I first heard the music. It brought back so many memories and I hope my daughter who was 6 at the time, will have the same memories.
I remember seeing the electrical parade when I was young. I was so excited to see that it was back at the Magic Kingdom. I love the lights and the music, especially the little fish that spin around! All the floats are amazing. We try to get a spot near main street to see the fireworks afterwards, but ask a cast member about a good viewing spot. Rain will cancel the parade, though, so be prepared to be disappointed if rain comes through!
This is my favorite. My wife loves to see Tinkerbell. We had to go into Tinkerbells Nook too. That was pretty cool. But I love to see the characters. It's very cool at night they turn off all the lights and you get to see it all light up it's like magic right in front the castle and then it's time for the fireworks, however it's a great time to ride rides! People are all in line to watch the parade.
The electrical parade is amazing and so beautiful to watch. This is something to not miss while at magic kingdom. You do have to show up a couple hours before the show starts to get good seats. It is so worth it. Don't be afraid to ask one of the cast members for recommendations of where to sit to watch the parade, wishes, and fireworks :). My 3 year old loved all the lights, but the baby slept through the parade.
The first time I saw the main street electrical parade was in 1986 right after HS graduation!! What a suprise in 2011 when disney brought it back. I was happy to get to share this with my son that year. I hoping to share it with my granson this year. Be sure to make this a must see on your next trip!
The electrical parade is a historic Disney tradition, and for good reason- it is totally fun. Keep the kids up late and line the streets waiting for this joyful and brightly lit parade of lights and fun. Old-fashioned cars remniscent of the parade you knew as a kid still make the lineup, but the addition of numerous more modern innoventions also file along. Don't forget to get your glow ears!
For years, we've enjoyed seeing the Main Street Electrical Parade. Disney has updated the floats to include LED lights and fabulous new special effects. The young girls in our group loved seeing Tinkerbell leading the parade! Be sure to check the Times Guide at the park. Depending on the park hours for that day, you could see the parade twice -- it's worth it!
