There is a litany of fabulous, kid-friendly things to do at the ATL History Center but for a toddler, Magic Mondays in particular are fabulous. They provide a story, a craft, and some other activity for the kids each time.
We went this week for Honest Abe day and got to peruse the new Abe Lincoln exhibit, then were read an Abe Lincoln board book for storytime followed by making stovepipe Abe hats while served gold fish crackers and apple juice.
Afterwords we strolled the grounds including the authentic farmstead complete with a chicken coop stocked with real "cluck clucks"! There are interactive trails and a vintage playhouse with little chairs, just their size.
The two toddlers in our company spent at least 20 minutes jumping down the grassy stairs of the amphitheater.
There is also a Chik Fil A onsite minus the fries. It's just a storefront - no kitchen - so we were able to get a great bag lunch of a chicken wrap and fruit cup (fresh fruit, not sauced in sugar!) for an outdoor picnic.
We were there for 3.5 hours and could've stayed longer only the moms were pooped! I can't say enough great things about it.
